Mikkel Lassen

Short Introduction

"Hi there, I'm Mikkel, an IT-Product Development student at Aarhus University. I love building things that bridge the physical and digital world - whether that's an autonomous tracking robot, an interactive lighting system, or a reimagined board game with LED strips and haptic feedback.

I bring together skills in software engineering, physical computing, and product thinking. My toolkit includes Python, Java, JavaScript, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and various sensors and actuators. I've also got a background in product management from the fintech industry, which helps me focus on solving real user problems. When I'm not coding or soldering, you'll find me playing volleyball, experimenting in the kitchen, or exploring new technologies."

Here you have a short card turning game

What I Do

I build tangible prototypes and interactive systems that combine hardware and software. From autonomous tracking devices with computer vision to physical computing games with LED feedback - I enjoy creating things you can actually touch and interact with.

Technical Toolkit

Languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Hardware: Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Microchips, ESP32
Frameworks: Flask, OpenCV, Firebase, NodeJS
Methods: Test-driven development, user-centered design, agile development

Featured Projects

ITPDP: An autonomous tracking vehicle with pan-tilt camera, built with Raspberry Pi, Flask, and LEGO Mindstorm.
FitDes: Interactive lighting system for architecture students, simulating natural sunlight movement.
Modern Battleship: Physical computing reimagining of the classic game with LED strips, potentiometers, and haptic feedback.
HotStone: Card game framework built with compositional design patterns and networked multiplayer.

Product Perspective

My background in product management gives me a user-first mindset. I've worked with product discovery, stakeholder alignment, KPI tracking, and agile methodologies in the fintech industry. This helps me build things that actually solve problems.
